How many types of IELTS or how many parts of IELTS?
As of my last update in September 2021, the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam has two main parts:
1. IELTS Academic: This version is intended for students who plan to enroll in universities and other higher education institutions in English-speaking countries. It assesses the English language proficiency required for academic purposes.
2. IELTS General Training: This version is designed for individuals who are planning to migrate to English-speaking countries or for those who want to pursue secondary education, work experience, or training programs in an English-speaking environment.
Both versions of the IELTS exam consist of four sections:
1. Listening: This section evaluates your ability to understand spoken English through a range of recordings, such as conversations, monologues, and academic lectures.
2. Reading: This section assesses your reading comprehension skills using a variety of texts, such as articles, advertisements, and passages from books.
3. Writing: In this section, you will have to complete two writing tasks. The topics are different for the Academic and General Training versions.
4. Speaking: This section involves a face-to-face interview with an examiner to evaluate your spoken English skills. It includes a variety of questions and speaking tasks.
Please note that exam formats and structures may change over time, so it’s essential to refer to the official IELTS website or relevant sources for the most up-to-date information.
IELTS Band Score Calculator.
The iELTS test band score is determined solely based on your English language ability and proficiency. As the test is a language test, band scores are continuous between 1 and 9.
Band scores are first determined separately for each test section (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). After that the average score is determined by adding them all together.

IELTS band scores are calculated from 0 – 9. How proficient you are in English depends on this score. Generally a score of 6-7 can apply for study or work abroad. Institutions often state how many scores are required. Below is how much your skills will count according to the score
